Founder & President

Founded the Institute in 2003 after a career at the intersection of policy and philanthropy. For more than two decades, he has personally mentored every Washington Scholar who has passed through the program. He holds degrees in government and public affairs and continues to lead the Institute's strategic vision, fundraising, and scholar selection.

Program Director

A 2006 scholar himself, BJ returned to the Institute to lead programming, curriculum, and the Collegiate Institutes network. His work bridges the flagship Washington Program with the regional cohorts in Atlanta, Charlotte, Durham, Greensboro, and New York.

Colin Ganges

Director of Scholar Partnerships

Oversees internship placements, employer partnerships, and scholar sponsorships. Colin is the first call for organizations interested in hosting a Washington Scholar for the summer.
